Why is Australia determined to make the same mistakes as America?

Oh it makes me sad. The new Industrial Relations legislation will mark a sad day for Australia. I am at work, so I can't expand on it here, but the new legislation essentially cripples employee's bargaining power when it comes to work conditions.. I'll have to write about this tonight when I get home.

On the home front, I had cocktails on the beach last night as the sun set. I love Perth sunsets, they are as good as the sunsets I enjoyed in Paros in Greece. So life is getting better!

about the political correctness:

i despize all fundamentalists, chrisitians, muslims, jews, whatever.

it's not utopic to believe we can all get along.

but if muslims in portugal (that are a minority within the minorities) try to do something like the piglet move, we will react. portuguese are quite tolerant, but very, very religious (catholics). if someone tries to forbid us to set some xmas lights outside our house, there will be confrontantions. no doubt about that.

I'm hearin' ya! This political correctness thing can so easily get taken over by intolerant people. I say hooray that I live in a safe, secular country, where we don't shoot each other or declare holy war if we don't like someone! (of course we still follow the US and invade countries with them, but hey, that's another discussion altogether!)

Hey Poody,
I'll take some pics for you for sure! Great to hear from you. I don't hate the US at all, my comment about why we must make their mistakes was referring to issues such as economic and social policies. The US has a high rich-poor ratio, with a declining middle class group (i'm generalising here of course, but you get the idea). Australia has prided itself on its egalitarianism, but over the last 15 years or so, there has been a trend of polarisation ie. the rich are getting richer and the poor getting poorer. It's the whole 'every aspect of our society/economy is based on profitability' argument. I can talk about this for hours, hehe, but i'm at work and soon i will be busted by my boss for yakkin' online so i had better stop!
About the music, 'merck records' is one of my favourite labels, i have a link on my site. They are based next door to you, in Florida! Also try discogs.com they have a great network of artists. Cheers, chat more soon.
