DJing in the rain

Enough of the emotional purge that was last weeks rant. The last couple of days here have been aching to rain. The tension in the air has been massive, and I spent Easter Sunday with the extended family sitting around in our backyard baking in the humidity of tropical weather. After surviving the drive back from Bridgetown, we arrived just in time to meet the full relli bash, all stinky and messed up from the previous nights partying. After the afternoon of chatting and sweating, of course I was called in to dj an extended 3 hour ambient zone on RTR fm (www.rtrfm.com.au ) with Gav. Just as I was chilling out with Sarah and Jeffo by his pool, the skies opened up and absolutely trashed Bullcreek. We snuggled up in his lounge and got spooked to the Butterfly Effect, and then I had to hit the road in the mega-storm. The new RTR studios have a window facing the laneway behind Planet Video, and as I settled into an hour of our super muzak special, the lightning lit up our dingy space as we spun the discs. It didn't stop until 12.30am, by which time Gav and I were lulled almost to sleep by our ambient electro tunes. The drive home was bizarre, only hours before it had been almost desert conditions in Perth, and now Charles Street was flooded.
Of course, now I have just blown an hour of my essay writing time for this uni assignment on planning theory. Looks like another procrastination session for mrlederhosen!

Gina and Glyn's engagement party

The weekend started surprisingly. It had been a shocking week, with dramas with Jess (of the nearly break-up kind) and huge deadlines for university. I was dragging my feet, life has been hard lately and I really was not looking forward to another weekend of stress, insecurity and dullness. So I was impressed when Jeff called to suggest a beer at the Como. Two beers later Simon and Sarah turned up and the brews started to flow faster. Things looked up. Some time later the inevitable call to transfer the party to Jeff's house took place. We switched to Bourbon, we drank more, the pool called us.. many hours later we dragged our sorry asses home.
The next day, I remembered it was Gina and Glyn's engagement party. Beer, wine, spirits, speeches and bad photos later we were back at Jeff's, which was a few houses down from Gina's parents house. The party cranked, with people appearing from everywhere, and the crate of Xanadu wines keeping everyone (except Jess - who doesn't drink wine) happy. Then Adam did the heave all over Jeff's ensuite. Then the old friend dropped a bombshell to Gina, then the tears started. Then Michelle wanted to beat up the old school friend. Then Glyn said no, then more wine flowed, then Mel started taking her clothes off and molesting PT in public, then the pool got used, then, then... umm i can't remember what happened then. But we all woke up on the floor all around the house. All was nice and seedy.
After a lazy morning, Simon insists its time to go the Como to score, so a few crew regroup and we're down there again. Mm mmh, a Sunday pint, what a way to finish the weekend!

rats!

there i was, walking along the Riverton foreshore with Hermione and Cupcake, when suddenly, Herms gets the urge to sprint along the side of the beach on the sand, being the right little beach-babe rat. little did she know that it was high tide and unknowingly jumped right into the river! after an undignified exit, she spent the next ten minutes trying to climb my leg to hide her shame, leaving me with a scratched and wet leg-ged!
Meanwhile, Cupcake was acting like a rat on speed as she tried to climb every tree in the vicinity. Jess was acting like an acrobat to keep her from climbing five metres into the sky, hehe! I got some action mpegs of the occaision, hmm i'm not sure if you can put mpegs on here.. i'll have to check that out.
OH yeah, Lauren proved herself on Saturday night to be a master cocktail maker, oooh yeah she had the blender cranking into overtime. Sheesh its harsh going out onthe town with her. she is heaps of fun, we get on great, she's got heaps of energy, but everytime i go clubbing with her its straight to the lamest night clubs in the galaxy. what a pickle i find myself in: hang with her and dance to total crapola, or go to somewhere cool with others who just sit there and talk about people. hmmm. ..well don't i sound like a vain boring guy today? its all this study! normal humans should not have to spend a sunny sunday afternoon in the library reading planning theory! aaaahhhh!

Eep eep

I've decided that this blog is not for my friends to see and is to be a journal type thing and whoever sees it has the honour of knowing my mind. I told a friend about my site and now I feel i have to be all mild and make sure I don't upset others sensibilities (my friend is cool, but even so, word can travel if i say something un PC). So strangers! Welcome to my headspace!

well that's not so exciting. hmm ah-hah! time for me to tell a story about something naughty i once did..
Bah! I'll tell it next time, cos I'm tired and it is Friday afternoon and cocktails have my name on them so I will drink rather than sit at a computer lab at Curtin Uni
