Coffee is tops

It seems a fitting time to announce that I have a caffeine problem. At first it was cool and a good way to spend 10 minutes outside of the office and in the city centre, but now it seems that if I haven't got a large, freshly roasted, aromatic, tasty and altogether fantastic coffee in front of me by 9 am at the absolute latest I physically get the shakes and feel edgy-mcveggie!

Hehe, I could always quit I hear you say, but then what am I supposed to do at 10.15 when I want to stretch my legs? ..and then again at 3 ish?

Oh the strain!

Summer has arrived in Perth

Summer is officially back! I am sitting here feeling hot, and there isn't a cloud in the sky in Perth today. It feels good to be alive on days like today, this 'lil city has the best summers in the world! I must get down to the coast and take some photos. I found this photo on the internet today, from Argentina. It describes how hot it's getting here. Gosh, what's with all this South American stuff on my blog lately?

Photo competition!

It appears that for some time I have lost access to my little lederhosen pic. While I search for a new suitable mrlederhosen profile pic, what say I launch a competition to see if anyone can find me the best ever lederhosen photo. I guess that means I have to have a prize.. um... whoever wins gets.. a ..... what say.. ummmm ... yes, i know!

Whoever sends me the greatest lederhosen photo in the history of the universe wins a bottle of Western Australian wine from me! I'll buy a funky bottle of wine and send it to wherever you send me an address to send it to!

Wow, interactive blogging! I like it. Now let's see if anyone responds..

Woohoo! Australia beat Uruguay to make it to the finals in the World Cup! After 31 years of not making the qualifying rounds! Time to celebrate!

I hope the football fans of Uruguay are feeling contrite after their ridiculously bad sportsmanship that they showed the Australian team, when they were in Montevideo. I've never heard of such crappy sporty behaviour. I imagine that might be the norm for inter South American sport, well I know how the Brazillians and Argentinians are, and the Serbs and Croations, but I didn't think the Aussies deserved to be spat on as they entered the arena!

Anyway, that's about as sporty as you'll ever hear me on this page! I'm looking forward to the parties during the following matches..

Why is Australia determined to make the same mistakes as America?

Oh it makes me sad. The new Industrial Relations legislation will mark a sad day for Australia. I am at work, so I can't expand on it here, but the new legislation essentially cripples employee's bargaining power when it comes to work conditions.. I'll have to write about this tonight when I get home.

On the home front, I had cocktails on the beach last night as the sun set. I love Perth sunsets, they are as good as the sunsets I enjoyed in Paros in Greece. So life is getting better!

New sounds

This has been a great week for music, according to the ears of mrlederhosen!
My sound system has been working overtime playing these albums constantly, ensuring the good vibes keep flowing through my body:

Merck Mix 4 - Proswell (This man is the Prince of music! He knows what my soul wants!)

Mr Projectile - Sinking (Only just discovered this on Tuesday. It's complex, luscious and blippy! That's gotta be good.)

Ambulance - The Curse of Vale Do Lobo (How did I not hear this when it came out a couple of years ago - this is an amazing album!)

Colleen - The Golden Morning Breaks (Beautiful noise - makes me feel good)

Herbie Hancock - Thrust (70's jazz funk fusion - oooh yeah, why isn't he president?)

Camel Safari in Yanchep

As a surprise for my Birthday, Jess took me on a camel safari up in the dunes to watch the sunset in Yanchep, about 45 minutes north of Perth, followed by dinner at the funky old Yanchep Inn!

Time to write more about mrlederhosen adventures

Phew! I survived another government interview! Even though I have the job, I had to apply to be eligable for the position when my current contract expires.

In more interesting news, I think I am long due to write about my travels again, and to start planning for my next adventures! Who wants to join me, and where should we go?!
I saw the film 'Wolf Creek' last night. Wow the suspense was fantastic! I haven't been that nervous since I saw the first 15 minutes of Jeepers Creepers (after that, that movie turned to crap). I imagine the tourism board of WA and Northern Territory won't be too pleased with this movie, it paints a pretty scary picture of outback Australia. What's worse, it scares you in the same way that Jaws, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and even Salo (that 70's Pasolini shocker) does. That is, even though you know the story isn't true, you know that it COULD happen, and that's what makes it so scary. And to make it on the backpacker route, ouch, that's gotta hurt the tourism sector!

Lawn bowling action was the go on Saturday night. My camera's batteries were fried, so no pics of me with my sexy white pants i'm sorry! But i'll get those camel hike pics online asap. Oooh ooh, i bought the new Boards of Canada album 'The Campfire Headphase' on vinyl last week, yay it's so good to buy a record again! I've also acquired heaps of other new music. More about that soon.
