Some pics from my travels so far

One of the many beaches on the rocky end of the island.
Dave on the beach at sunset.
The hut that Simon claimed overlooking the amazing pool. The bar is just to the left of the big rock.
Someone carrying a fridge on a small boat to the Water Village in Brunei.
Naz turns into a mermaid.
The view from my villa. My villa was right on the point on the head of the island. About 5 metres behind me is the South China Sea.

Tomorrow I fly to Koh Samui to start the next leg of my journey. I seem to be forever coming back to Bangkok, but at least this time it is raining, providing some relief to the constant humidity that sticks me to my ever-damp clothes. I failed to mention in my last entry that upon arriving in Singapore for some exotic fun on private islands I suffered an intense blast of food poisoning. Yep it wiped me out for a few days and only these last two days have I been back to full-speed G.
My verdict of Singapore? I think I have been too harsh on it before. Although it is very controlled and lacks the craziness of other cities, I definately liked something about Singapore. I think I would get bored if I was there for too long, but if for nothing else its location puts you in the centre of a whole world of things to do. Simon has a funky world going there, I could easily slip in to living the lifestyle for a while. ..I would definately have to slip in another visit to Pulau Pangkil too..

Pulau Pangkil - fantasy island!

Ooh what an island is Pulau Pangkil. Imagine a small island, one that takes 10 minutes to walk from one end to the other, that has amazing first class huts with comfortable queen size beds facing the sea, 20 staff to serve 10 guests, a rainforest, a rocky swimming pool with bar attached and the most picturesque sunsets! It was divine! Pics will be posted online as soon as I get some time to be online, I am at an expensive Singapore internet cafe as I write this.

Bangkok, Brunei, Miss Puke and a bathroom

I write today's entry from a swanky little room in the Scarlet Hotel in Singapore. On Sunday I travelled to Bangkok, via Brunei for a day, and last night I came to Singapore to hang out with my ol' pal Simon for a week, including going to a tropical island over in Indonesia (this place: http://www.pangkil.com/overview.html). After this trip I will go back to Bangkok and will travel to an island with my old friend Angkana for a few days. After that, Miss R flies in from Perth and we will go adventuring somewhere!

So anyway, back to last night, unfortunately, in my haste to get an authentic Malaysian Laksa curry I ate a dodgy one from Stall 38 at the Newton Food Court. I have just got my act together this morning, after spending almost all night in the toilet being sick @#$!@#! I am still feeling seedy as I write, it's probably why my writing style is a bit wacky today. I took a few cool pics in Bangkok, and I visited what seemed like a Mumbleboy exhibition in Siam Square. Here's a couple of pics.. I have to go lie down now, the belly's a gurglin' again (sigh, on my holidays, grr).

Mumbleboy exhibition in this massive shopping centre, I think it was in Central World (?) - there was no writing anywhere, but it looks like Mumbleboy work.
Bangkok traffic.
I thought about getting a massage from Miss Puke! How could they not know what that means, after all it is in a tourist area!

Grant gets a holiday!

Yay! I bought my ticket to Thailand today! It's been two and a half years since I have been on holiday. Ooh ah I will have to put pics of it online as I take them. Mr Slogger has a work holiday on a hired island and I have been invited. I will be looking forward to that for sure! A private tropical island. Hehe, I love it!
